The origins of the name "Ahead Publishing House" goes back to its creator's interest since decades ago in establishing a press in the name of his father, the late Mohammed Tamjidi, who was called "Ahad" since childhood. Ahad in Persian (and Arabic) means "one" and "united" or the one who has achieved unity in himself, and perhaps with the one whom he loves—at least in his son's spiritual and familially desired interpretation of it. The affinity of the name "Ahad" in Persian and "Ahead" in English inspired the naming of the publishing "venture" in honor of Ahad, who tried in his entrepreneurship to be ahead of his time and peers. With all the love and passion for meaningful and educated hard work he inspired in his son, dedicated to Ahad and his living memory is this Ahead Publishing House or خانه نشر احد.
"Okcir," while being an abbreviation for the name of the research center for which Okcir Press (as an imprint of Ahead Publishing House) is a publishing conduit, is also a pun on 'elixir' (in Persian, 'ekcir', or اكسير ), the water of everlasting life. May OKCIR creator's parents, Mohammed (Ahad) and Tayyebeh Tamjidi love and live forever in his memory and the the memory of those who know of and remember them.
